The Rural Economic Development Council (REDC) is a 19 member board appointed by the Board of Supervisors representing industry sectors to promote the economic growth and vitality of Loudoun County’s agricultural, horticultural, and equine industries. The REDC serves the community and the Board by furnishing information and providing recommendations to the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors relative to programs and policies affecting the economic growth and development of Rural Loudoun County. REDC meetings are open to the public and are held on the first Tuesday of each month except August.
The REDC provides a forum through which agricultural industry and rural business sector leaders meet to exchange ideas and experiences relative to rural economic development practices and polices. It offers to coordinate the rural economic development, marketing, and promotion activities among the several public and private groups engaged in such activities throughout the county and it annually reports to the Board of Supervisors on the state of the rural economy and results of rural initiatives.
